I want take a moment to say how incredibly thankful I am for all of my wonderful readers. All of your kind words over the last six months have kept me motivated to make this site the best it can be.
I gave myself a little break from posting this holiday season. During that time I was actually hard at work making changes and improvements to this site, and I am very excited to share them with all of you!
New Look!
Youth Literature Reviews got a makeover! In addition to a pretty backdrop and an updated color scheme, youthlitreviews.wordpress.com is now simply youthlitreviews.com!
No Ads!
Does anyone remember those ugly ads that used to pop up at the bottom of each post? WordPress puts those ads on all of their free blogs, and I hated how much page space they were taking up. Removing the ads was a top priority for my site renovation.
I’m an Amazon Affiliate!
During the break I joined Amazon’s affiliate program. Simply click on the title of a book or movie in any of my posts and you will be taken to the item’s amazon.com page to buy it! Placing amazon.com orders through links on this blog doesn’t cost you anything extra, but I get a small commission for recommending the items.
Rest assured I am not attempting to “sell out” or get rich off of this blog. As a former bookseller turned blogger, taking this step just seemed to make sense. While I can’t have my own brick-and-mortar book shop, (maybe someday!) I can sell the books that I love!
I work incredibly hard every day on providing quality content for this blog. Even though the commission I receive from your purchases is a very small amount, I appreciate it more than words can express. I have updated all of my previous posts to contain affiliate links, so check it out!

Looks great, Katie! I know how much goes in to these changes. I’ve did the same thing over break for our store website, which means 1) I’m exhausted and 2) I’m sorely behind on my own stuff! But I did want to pop in and say congrats on the new design and Happy New Year!
