A Cake, a Cold, and a Cup of Sugar

The True Story of the Three Little Pigs (©1989) is another hilarious parody from author Jon Scieszka and illustrator Lane Smith. In this amusing retelling, readers will hear the wolf’s side of the story. When Alexander T. Wolf goes calling on his neighbors to borrow a cup of sugar (for his dear old granny’s birthday cake) he huffs and snuffs and blows down the houses of two little pigs. But the wolf wasn’t trying to blow down those little pigs’ houses on purpose (and who builds a house out of straw, anyway?). He just had a terrible sneezing cold. With twice the charm and ten times the humor of the original tale, The True Story of the Three Little Pigs is an enjoyable story that kids and adults will want to read again and again.
