The Santa Trap

SantaTrapIf you’ve read all of the traditional Christmas books this year and are looking for something new and different, The Santa Trap by Jonathan Emmett and Poly Bernatene is the perfect choice!

The story centers on Bradley Bartleby, a boy so bad that everyone – including his parents – is terrified of him. Everyone, that is, except Santa Claus. Santa knows what a beastly little boy Bradley is, and every year in lieu of the mountain of presents that Bradley asks for, Santa brings him a pair socks. Even though Bradley’s extravagantly wealthy parents buy him all the presents he desires, Bradley wants presents from Santa Claus like everyone else. So Bradley decides to do something badder than he’s ever done before – set a trap for Santa. He spends the next year transforming his house into an obstacle course of horrors, complete with dynamite, trap doors, and more, to catch the big guy in the act and nab all of his gifts.

This zany, hilarious story has great comedic timing. Fans of Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas will enjoy the antics of this little villain as he attempts to ruin Christmas for his own selfish ends. This book is full of exciting twists and turns, and the surprise ending will have kids and parents roaring with laughter.

Originally published in Great Britain in 2009; this book is now available in the United States for the first time! I recommend The Santa Trap for children ages 5+.
