How many of these movies based on children’s books have you seen? Do have any favorites that didn’t make the list?

  1. It’s kind of amazing the number of movies based on books there are, aren’t there? I loved so many of these kids movies when I was a child. The Witches, The Secret Garden (although I liked a different version more), Mary Poppins, Anne of Green Gables! And some of these I like now as an adult. Series of Unfortunate Events is great. Oh and HOLES!

    Such a great list.

  2. Great list Katie! bookmarking for future reference! 🙂

  3. Great list! NIm’s Island, Mary Poppins, and How to Train Your Dragon are some of my favorites! 🙂

    Alice @ Alice in Readerland

  4. Great list! But don’t forget that “Babe” was based on a book titled “The Sheep Pig.”

  5. Great List, Katie! Thanks for sharing at The Children’s Bookshelf, I hope you join us again when we return in September.
