The Night Before My Birthday

Guess what? Tomorrow is my birthday!

So it seems like the perfect time to share a brand-new children’s book, The Night Before My Birthday (©2014) by Natasha Wing. This early reader is the newest installment in Natasha’s popular “Night Before” series.

The Night Before My BirthdayThis rhyming book perfectly captures all of the joy and excitement that goes along with birthdays.

‘Twas the night before my birthday.
Hooray! It’s almost here!
It may not be a holiday,
but it’s the best day of the year.

When the big day arrives, Mom and Dad help get everything ready for a big celebration. All the party preparations are going smoothly until Dad trips while bringing in the ice cream and it spills all over the kitchen floor. Dad and kid make an emergency trip to the store to get more, and return home to a big surprise!

This story is exuberant, adorable, and downright fun. The gender and appearance of the birthday kid is never revealed, making it easy for the reader to place themselves into the story.  The Night Before My Birthday makes the perfect birthday gift!

  1. I loved The Night Before Kindergarten as a little kid. I read it all the time to ease any nerves before the first day of school. Great review, and happy birthday! :]
